What led Billy to write/illustrate A Child is Born?
“A Child Is Born has been the dream project of a lifetime for me and, quite simply, I answered God’s call to embark on this amazing adventure. My family saw some very rough times health-wise the past several years, and even though it was incredibly hard, a lot of good came out of it. A new appreciation of family and what’s really important rises above all the pain and awakens one to the love and sacrifice God has given us all. The time is right for a comic book-telling of his son’s miraculous birth. I feel in my heart that Evan, Jason, and I were chosen by God at this moment in time to herald and celebrate the birth of Jesus.”
What is Billy’s testimony as an artist?
“God granted me this beautiful gift of storytelling and I’ve used it to make a very wonderful life for my family. With A Child Is Born, I hope in some small way to use my ability to share the good news of Jesus with others; to bring about God’s word through a new and engaging portrayal of ‘the greatest story ever told.’ I pray I did the Christmas story justice. I know in my heart that angels guided my hand through the entire process, that the Holy Spirit was always with me. After a rewarding career in comics, I look forward to writing and illustrating more works of faith in the future.”
